The Governors of Glan Usk Primary School are seeking to appoint an innovative and inspirational Assistant Head Teacher. The successful candidate will be committed to high standards of education and teaching to further the success of this outstanding Primary school and ensure the best opportunities for all children.
The Governing Body are committed to appointing a non-teaching Assistant Head Teacher for Inclusion & Equity who:
1. Demonstrates a passion and a high-level skill set for leading effective ALN provision across the whole school,
2. Understands how to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with additional needs, multilingual pupils, talented pupils, or vulnerable pupils,
3. Is able to oversee the day-to-day operation of the school’s ALN arrangements, including developing and implementing ALN procedures, strategic financial planning, resource deployment, and data analysis to improve learner outcomes,
4. Acts as the key contact for local authority inclusion and support services, external agencies, and professionals such as educational psychologists, health and social care professionals, etc.,
5. Develops specialist skills and knowledge on ALN and stays up-to-date with guidance and best practices,
6. Has a deep understanding of the Curriculum for Wales and ALN Transformation,
7. Leads and promotes excellence, equity, and high behaviour standards, using positive behaviour management strategies effectively,
8. Prioritizes the well-being of all children and fosters respectful relationships with pupils, parents, staff, and the wider community,
9. Possesses excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills,
10. Motivates and inspires teams, with a flexible and positive approach to challenges and change,
11. Brings energy, enthusiasm, positivity, and dedication to the role, and
12. Is an inspirational leader with a clear vision for partnership.
Governors will support the successful candidate in all aspects of school life, fostering effective learning and development throughout the school community.
THIS POST REQUIRES YOU TO BE REGISTERED WITH THE EWC.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974), and a comprehensive screening process, including an enhanced DBS check, will be undertaken on all applicants.
