Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Surveyor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting precise land and construction surveys, ensuring project accuracy and compliance with specifications. This role offers an excellent opportunity to apply technical expertise in a dynamic environment, contributing to the successful completion of various infrastructure and development projects.
Responsibilities
* Ensuring that all activities required are undertaken promptly & accurately and have been planned, risk assessed and are carried out in accordance with relevant documents safely.
* To proactively undertake their required tasks and assist wherever possible with Divisional and external workload.
* Ensuring that all works are undertaken efficiently and utilising the correct methodologies and are undertaken in such a way that if required results can be backed up with raw data and/or records.
* To properly establish or assess the engineering control on each project, taking any required actions to ensure positional and level information is reliable.
* To undertake, as required, take offs from drawings or electronic information for any purposes required by the company ensuring appropriate levels of detail for the end requirements and outputs.
* Proactively assisting other staff with operational requirements, commercial correspondence, including changes, variations, inspections, approvals, queries, and sign offs.
* Proactively assisting from an engineering standpoint with all site related paperwork.
* To comply with all health and safety requirements and to ensure all activities are risk assessed and undertaken safely.
* Proficiency in using modern surveying tools such as total stations, GPS systems, and laser scanners.
* Proactively engaging in the training, mentoring and development of more junior staff, colleagues and apprentices.
* Planning, preparing, and managing all documents and any other engagements as required, to ensure works are undertaken safely, efficiently, and to programme.
Requirements
* Previous experience in construction, site surveying, or land surveying is generally required, often around 3+ years.
* Proficiency in surveying software (e.g., AutoCAD, LSS) and hardware (Total Stations, GPS).
* Strong understanding of construction techniques, site plans, and engineering drawings
* Prior experience in earthworks and ground stabilisation is an advantage
* Strong spatial awareness, mathematical competence and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and reporting.
* Valid UK driving licence is essential for site access and equipment transportation.
* Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and undertake physically demanding tasks when necessary.
