Consultant Community Paediatrician – Full-time and 8-sessions a week
Applications are invited for two Consultant Community Paediatrician posts – one full-time and one 8 sessions a week – based at University Hospital Llandough Children’s Centre and St David’s Hospital Children’s Centre.
Applicants must hold MRCPCH or equivalent and should either be on the Specialist Register or be a Specialist Registrar within 6 months of expected receipt of a CCT at the time of interview.
Responsibilities
Post holders will provide clinical input to a range of community paediatric services across Cardiff and the Vale, including:
* Assessment and management of children with neurodevelopmental conditions, neurodisability, and atypical development (including autism, ADHD, and global developmental delay)
* Complex disability management
* Safeguarding medical assessments and multi‑agency safeguarding work
* Participation in the safeguarding service week rota (in‑hours only)
* Delivery of care in children’s centres, special schools, and community settings
* Collaboration with education, social care, CAMHS and third‑sector partners
* Fulfilment of statutory responsibilities under the Children Act and the Special Educational Needs Code of Practice for Wales
Qualifications & Experience
Applicants must hold MRCPCH or equivalent and should either be on the Specialist Register or be a Specialist Registrar within 6 months of expected receipt of a CCT at the time of interview.
Applicants must provide names and contact details of referees covering at least the last 3 years of their employment/training history in full. In addition, applicants who are currently or have most recently been employed as a substantive Consultant or as a Locum Consultant in post for more than 12 months must also provide the name of their Medical Director as an additional referee.
Salary
The basic salary range for this post is £110,240 per annum to £160,951 per annum (pro rata as applicable).
