Overview
The successful candidate will lead and manage R&D projects from concept to production, delivering innovative solutions that meet the needs of demanding clients. This role requires a creative, hands-on engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys solving complex technical challenges.
Responsibilities
* Generate innovative ideas for new products and improvements, anticipating customer needs
* Respond quickly to client requests, adapting or creating bespoke solutions where required
* Take ownership of projects, running them independently or as part of a team
* Provide regular updates to management and stakeholders on project progress
* Deliver projects from initial concept through to final production
* Build and test prototypes, including installations at customer sites in challenging conditions
* Act as a technical resource for the design team and wider engineering function
* Prepare technical reports to support company R&D activities
* Attend customer meetings on-site or remotely to provide engineering guidance
* Keep up-to-date with relevant legislation and advise on compliance requirements
* Maintain personal skills and training to ensure competence and development
Key Skills & Experience
* HND or BSc in a relevant engineering discipline
* Experience with CAD software (Autodesk preferred)
* Knowledge of FEA testing and reporting
* Hands-on prototyping skills and practical engineering experience
* Full UK driving licence
