We are seeking a passionate and experienced individual to deliver a high-quality maintenance and repairs service to SBHA Tenants.


Job Summary

Location: Selkirk, Scottish Borders
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week


The Role

This role is to provide a high-quality maintenance and repairs service to SBHA Tenants. It is predominantly based in the community supporting Tenants to live in safe and healthy homes ensuring all necessary repairs are carried out to a high standard.


Responsibilities

* Maintenance and compliance: specifying, inspecting, and instructing maintenance works, ensuring contractor performance meets standards, and compliance with health and safety and CDM regulations.
* Property inspections and asset management: inspecting properties and communal areas, managing voids and responsive repairs, contributing to asset management strategy updates, and preparing for handover of new properties.
* Quality and performance monitoring: monitoring contractors and suppliers, supporting achievement of housing quality standards, and implementing new technical standards.
* Information systems and reporting: maintaining detailed housing stock condition databases, providing financial and performance data, and utilizing ICT tools for reporting.
* Customer service and community engagement: providing professional advice to tenants, handling service-related queries and complaints promptly, and fostering tenant involvement and community partnerships.


Requirements

* Experience of working in a similar role or social housing sector.
* Strong knowledge and understanding of building technology, construction, and maintenance.
* Experience of carrying out property and estate inspections and specifying works.
* Knowledge of legislation relevant to residential dwellings in Scotland.
* Attention to detail and great communication skills.
* Excellent IT skills – Word and Excel in particular.
* Possession of a current full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
