We are recruiting for a Battery Array Design & Release Engineer for our customer. \nPosition Overview\/Description: \nThe role is for a Battery Array Design & Release Engineer with interest in battery technology. You will be responsible for design & release for battery array and interfacing with battery pack and vehicle teams to integrate the arrays for use in Plug-in Hybrid(PHEV) and Battery Electric (BEV) vehicles. \nResponsibilities: \n\nLead the design and release of future model High Voltage (HV) battery welded array modules by working with HV battery package engineers, suppliers, welding process engineers, and HV battery component engineers. \nDevelop electrical, mechanical, and thermal interfaces and ensure package compatibility for module into HV Battery System \nDesign or evaluate supplier design of specific module components using engineering techniques and knowledge of manufacturing process to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective design \nWork closely with other functions and global teams to meet package, performance, and attribute requirements for HV Battery Array System. \nComplete Design and Release activities including release HV Battery array in WERS, Validation, Issues management, Quality Document Development, and delivery \nInterface to adjacent teams including HV Battery unit team, HV Battery manufacturing team, and HV Battery cell team, HV Battery Testing team, Supplier Technical Assistance, and Purchasing. \nSupport battery localization activities \nAwareness of and compliance with high-voltage safety practices. \n \n What you bring along: \n Job Requirements: \nBasic Qualifications: \n\nDegree in Engineering Discipline (or equivalent) \nExperience in Design and Release roles in Body and Structural design or similar preferred \nKnowledge of current hybrid technologies\/ battery \/ power electronics and components desirable but not essential \nDemonstrated ability to plan and execute technically challenging projects working cross functionally. \nWorking knowledge of:\n\nCAD \nProduct development processes \nManaging engineering deliverables \nVehicle Bill of Material tracking and reporting \nFinancial control and reporting \nElectrified powertrain key components and systems \n \n \nDemonstrable experience of working independently. \nAbility to quickly obtain and grow knowledge in a rapidly developing technology. \nStrong oral and written communication skills \nSelf-motivated with excellent team building and leadership skills \nMust have valid UK or EU driving license & willingness to travel as needed \nHas an enthusiasm for electrification with awareness of other vehicle area requirements and the integration conflicts that they present to deliver a vehicle level solution that meets all attributes \n \nPreferred Qualifications: \n\nKnowledge of battery test equipment (cyclers, thermal chambers, chillers) \nHigh Voltage Safety Training \n \n Position is confirmed inside IR35.
