We're looking for a deputy manager to join our fantastic team here in Ilford. Working alongside our registered manager Aimee you'll ensure a high standard of care for the young people in our care.

We have a Staff and Child centric model where we seek the best in care for our young people and our staff that work with them.
Main Purpose of the Job:

To work alongside the Registered Manager to manage the service's existing workforce and resources, as well as to promote and safeguard the welfare of the young people in our care.
*
To assist the manager in achieving the aims and objectives of the Statement of Purpose.
*
To deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager.
*
To support and manage the staff to enable them to meet the needs of the young people.
*
To undertake direct work with young people as appropriate.
*
To be the responsible person in managing child protection concerns and complaints.
*
To work in partnership with other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for young people
*
To ensure that resources are allocated appropriately, and financial records are accurately maintained


Person Specification:

*
A good standard of literacy and numeracy
*
NVQ 3 / Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
*
Residential Experience
*
Team Building and Supervision Skills
*
Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
*
Understanding the needs of young people who have experienced trauma including managing challenging behaviours
*
Good organisational skills


As we work with vulnerable young people you will need to complete a job application form with a self-disclosure before we can invite you to an interview.

Requirements for DBS reference checking will be undertaken in line with government regulations, and safer recruitment best practice.

Pay:

Salary for a deputy manager ranges from £35,000 to £47,500 depending on experience.

Schedule:

*
Monday to Friday 9am - 5.30pm (flexibility to cover other shifts when necessary)
*
Holidays
*
On call duty shared with other managers over weekends
