The Production Manager is responsible for the overall performance, efficiency, and continuous improvement of manufacturing operations across all production shifts. Reporting directly to the Head of Manufacturing, this role leads the shift management team, ensuring consistent application of operational standards, high levels of quality and compliance, and delivery against key business metrics. The Production Manager is a strategic and hands-on leader, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and collaboration. Responsibilities: Lead and develop Shift Managers and their teams, ensuring alignment with business goals and operational strategy. Translate production plans into actionable targets, ensuring all resources are aligned to meet demand and KPI objectives. Promote and embed a culture of continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and high-performance within the department. Collaborate closely with the Head of Manufacturing on strategic planning, capacity planning, and investment needs. Own the execution of daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules, ensuring optimal use of resources (people, equipment, materials). Ensure all production activities are compliant with GMP, quality standards, and health & safety regulations. Proactively lead safety culture to ensure our safety mission: ‘For everyone to go home in as good a condition as they came to work in, if not better’. Develop and maintain clear communication structures to the whole production team through daily, weekly and monthly review/updates. Monitor and analyse production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for process optimisation. Drive adherence to ISO standards and other regulatory or customer-specific requirements. Coach and develop all shift managers and team leaders to support their growth, engagement, and performance. Ensure robust training, onboarding, and succession plans are in place across all levels of the production team. Foster a culture of accountability, open communication, and cross-functional teamwork. Lead root cause analysis and resolution of production issues; implement corrective and preventative actions (CAPAs). Set and monitor KPIs for safety, quality, cost, delivery, and people (SQCDP), ensuring continuous progress and reporting to leadership. Identify, sponsor, and manage improvement projects that increase productivity, reduce waste, and support operational excellence. Work cross-functionally with Planning, Production, Quality, and Engineering to improve the Production assets and approach. Requirements: Proven experience (5 years) in a manufacturing management role, preferably in a regulated industry (e.g., cosmetics, pharmaceutical or, food). Strong working knowledge of GMP, ISO and FDA standards is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage performance, and drive change in a fast-paced environment. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; data-driven decision maker. Strong communication and interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization. Solid understanding of lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies.
