Contract Details
* 4-month fixed-term contract
* Approx. 40 days over the contract period (1.5–2 days per week)
* Hybrid working, with some time required in the client’s offices
* Rate: £32 per hour / £240 per day (c. £9,600)
* Holiday: 3 days paid leave
Our client is a leading professional membership organisation with a global, multi-disciplinary community. Upholding the highest standards of professionalism, ethics and competence sits at the heart of its purpose and underpins the trust placed in its members.
They are now seeking an experienced professional to support a Professional Standards project, focused on the review and modernisation of their Code of Professional Conduct.
The Role
This is a project-based role with responsibility for leading the update of the organisation’s Code of Professional Conduct. The objective is to transform the Code into a modern, accessible and principles-based framework that addresses emerging themes and challenges across jurisdictions and disciplines.
The revised Code will set clear expectations for members, reinforce ethical standards beyond legal compliance and ensure integrity remains central to professional practice.
Key Responsibilities
* Establish and manage a project plan covering end-to-end delivery, success measures and future review cycles
* Conduct a needs analysis with internal stakeholders, including disciplinary and governance functions
* Research and benchmark against best-practice codes from relevant professional and industry bodies
* Work with an established working group of subject-matter experts to draft and refine the updated Code
* Deliver virtual and face-to-face presentations outlining the rationale for proposed changes
* Collaborate with senior management and board-level committees to support consultation and approval
* Support the development of an implementation and communications plan
* Work with internal colleagues to draft a training and education programme for the membership
Skills, Experience and Knowledge
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
* Experience working within professional standards, ethical or regulatory frameworks, ideally within a professional, regulatory or educational body
* Proven experience drafting and/or implementing Codes of Conduct
* Strong stakeholder management and project delivery capability
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Sound knowledge of the private client sector, with awareness of demographic change and digital agendas
* Consultancy or business development experience is desirable
* A qualification or professional background in law, wealth management or accounting is desirable
