Job Description
Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Package Engineer with significant experience in the Oil, Gas, Petrochemical, or Energy industries. Experience in Hydrogen projects will be beneficial. The role will be based on a hybrid working arrangement with a minimum of 3 days based in the Wood Stockton Office.
The Role
The role is to provide engineering expertise across multiple client scopes, ensuring Wood engineering and quality standards are achieved while ensuring all activities are carried out in a safe manner to legislative and client standards. This position sits within the Process & Energy part of Operations and offers a wide range of opportunities across onshore projects in green hydrogen, fuel switching, and energy transition. Projects include UK refineries, petrochemical facilities, fine chemicals, pharmaceutical facilities, and pilot plant design for new technologies.
Responsibilities
* Be technically competent in own discipline and actively maintain competence according to standards, pursuing continuous professional development.
* Provide discipline support to the Process and Energy business where required.
* Ensure self‑awareness of relevant regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives and industry technology developments and promote to direct reports.
* Provide discipline input to scope definition and execution.
* Support and supervise tasks delegated to other engineers.

* Relevant experience in a project office environment is preferred.
* Ability to work on own initiative and highlight areas of project risk.
* Candiate shall be degree qualified; Chartered Engineer/working towards Chartered status is preferred.
* Self‑motivated and pro‑active with good written and verbal communication skills to pass on information.
