Your new role
As an Administrative Support Officer, you will provide a wide-ranging, professional, and confidential administrative service to the DEA team and widermunity Planning & Development section.
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Deliveringprehensive administrative and secretarial support, including diary management, meeting coordination, and handling correspondence.
2. Maintaining office systems, databases, filing structures, and ensuringpliance with auditing and records management procedures.
3. Producing reports, collating management information, and assisting with Council andmittee documentation.
4. Attending meetings, taking accurate minutes, and following up on action points.
5. Coordinating training events, seminars, and bookings, including venues, travel, and delegate management.
6. Supporting the delivery of marketing campaigns, publications, and awareness events, including updating website content.
7. Managing enquiries from the public and stakeholders, including handlingplaints in line with policy.
8. Assisting withmunity centre bookings, payments, and front desk systems.
9. Supporting financial processes and handling cash in accordance with procedures.
10. Providing flexible support across the department to meet deadlines and service demands.
You will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the service while maintaining high standards of accuracy, organisation, and customer service.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered, you will demonstrate strong administrative experience and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Essential criteria include:
11. A minimum of 5 GCSEs (including English and Maths at Grade C or above) and at least 2 years’ administrative experience in a busy office environment
ORAt least 4 years’ administrative experience in a similar environment without the formal qualification requirement
12. Proven ability to manage high volumes of work and prioritisepeting demands effectively
13. Experience using office technology such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
14. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
15. Excellentmunication skills and the ability to deal confidently with the public and stakeholders
16. A full UK driving licence and access to transport, or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role
