Construction Project Manager
Refurbishment & Construction Projects | £50,000 - £70,000 + Package
A growing privately owned construction contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Construction Project Manager to join their expanding delivery team.
The business specialises in the refurbishment, maintenance, and repair of commercial and public sector buildings, delivering projects across sectors including education, commercial, industrial and heritage / listed buildings.
With turnover projected to grow significantly over the next few years, the company is seeking a hands-on Project Manager who can take ownership of projects and play a key role in supporting the next stage of the company's growth.
The Role
You will be responsible for overseeing projects from inception through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Working closely with the directors and wider delivery team, you will act as the key link between the client, subcontractors, and site teams, managing all aspects of project delivery.
Typical responsibilities will include:
* Managing multiple construction projects from initial setup through to completion
* Coordinating subcontractors, supply chain, and site teams
* Monitoring programme, quality, cost and health & safety
* Chairing progress meetings and client updates
* Reviewing and interpreting drawings, specifications and technical information
* Reporting project progress directly to senior leadership
Projects typically range from £200k to £5m, and you will usually manage 2 larger projects or up to 5-6 smaller projects at any one time.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
* 5+ years' experience in construction project management
* Experience delivering refurbishment or construction projects from start to finish
* Strong technical understanding of construction drawings and specifications
* Experience managing multiple subcontractors and project programmes
* Excellent communication and client management skills
* Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
Experience in commercial, education, public sector, or heritage projects would be advantageous.
A construction-related degree or NVQ Level 6/7 is desirable but not essential.
