We are seeking an experienced Service Delivery Manager to join our Repairs & Maintenance division on a fixed-term basis.
Reporting to the Head of Service, you will lead our responsive repair work streams, ensuring a high-quality, timely, and “right‑first‑time” service. Managing a team of Technical Supervisors, trade operatives, and engineers, you will drive operational efficiencies, deliver value-for-money solutions, and maintain excellent customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities include:
* Ensuring excellent customer care by managing queries, complaints, and feedback.
* Overseeing contractors, procurement, and supply chain management to ensure efficient service delivery.
* Managing budgets, cost control, procurement, and commercial risks on contracts up to £5m.
* Leading workforce planning, inspections, and improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and customer experience.
* Driving team performance to exceed KPIs and service standards.
* Ensuring excellent customer care by managing queries, complaints, and feedback.
* Work with business support partners to ensure accurate cost information for projects, recover incurred costs, and authorise sub-contractor payments.
* Overseeing contractors, procurement, and supply chain management to ensure efficient service delivery.
* Producing timely reports on performance, compliance, and financials.
* Promoting health, safety, and wellbeing across all operations.
* Representing the company with stakeholders and deputising for the Head of Service when required.
* Attend site meetings as needed, providing hands on management of the workforce.
* Record work-in-progress, conduct inspections, and compile improvement plans.
* Ensure delivery of work programmes through technical direction, quality, and cost control.
* Stay updated on relevant management practices and legislation.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Strong experience managing services/projects within a commercial repairs & maintenance (R&M) construction contractor environment, delivering to quality, time, budget, and customer satisfaction.
* Qualified with HNC (or equivalent) in Building and a degree in a building-related subject or housing management.
* Degree (or equivalent) in building related subject or housing management/professional membership of a recognised industry body (e.g., RICS, CIOB) strongly preferred.
* Proven track record in operational delivery of programmes exceeding £5m annually, including resource management, work planning, customer engagement, and quality assurance.
* Demonstrated ability to work in highly commercialised environments, driving efficiency, cost reduction, quality improvements, and enhanced customer experience.
* Experienced in supply chain management and representing organisations as a contract manager.
* Full, clean UK manual driving licence.
Working Arrangements:
* Working pattern: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
* Term: Fixed-term contract (6-months)
* Location: Dagenham.
* Some travel required throughout the borough in line with requirements of the role.
* £60, per annum
