Qualified English Teacher (QTS) - Secondary School

We are working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in the Rochdale area to recruit a committed and enthusiastic English specialist. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher seeking a rewarding role in a supportive and forward-thinking school environment.
About the Role
The successful candidate will join a thriving English department and play a key role in delivering the national curriculum to students across Key Stages 3 and 4. Depending on experience and departmental needs, there may also be opportunities to teach Key Stage 5.
Responsibilities include:
* Planning and delivering engaging lessons that promote a love of reading, writing, and critical thinking.
* Differentiating instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND and EAL.
* Preparing students for GCSE examinations, including coursework and exam technique.
* Using a range of formative and summative assessment strategies to monitor progress.
* Maintaining high standards of behaviour and fostering a positive classroom culture.
* Participating in departmental planning, CPD sessions, and whole-school initiatives.
* Supporting extracurricular activities such as reading clubs, theatre trips, or creative writing workshops.
Candidate Requirements
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
* Have a degree in English or a closely related subject.
* Demonstrate recent experience teaching English in a UK secondary school setting.
* Be confident in managing classroom behaviour and creating inclusive learning environments.
