Job Description
Our Spalding site have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Team Leader to join our friendly team on a full-time permanent basis.
As the Transport Team Leader you will be responsible for leading and supervising all aspects of the night function whilst providing support to the night management team.
Shift: 4 on 4 off, 7pm-7am.
Key Duties of a Transport Team Leader:
1. Ensuring best practice across all night operations functions.
2. Ensuring all traffic desk functions are completed successfully.
3. Local and distance collections.
4. Traffic sheet/system husbandry.
5. Live traffic desk function – efficient changes to existing plan.
6. All breakdowns and other traffic issues that arise are dealt with in a timely and responsive manner.
7. Load build alterations and amendments.
8. Tracking and Tracing.
9. Discrepancy/rejection notification and reporting.
10. Dispatch function.
11. Maintain all key internal communications with day shift functions (traffic, retail fleet).
12. Maintain and develop relationships with Spalding customer base.
Qualifications
13. 1 years minimum FMCG distribution experience.
14. Experience of communicating with drivers.
15. Demonstrate cost control methodology within a traffic office environment.
16. Knowledge of temperature controlled transportation is advantageous.
17. Knowledge of warehouse operations to allow efficient integration of both functions is desirable.
18. Sound knowledge of the general logistics sector.
19. Able to work to challenging deadlines in a pressurised environment.
