The role
We are looking for a Support Worker to join our Single Homeless Pathways team here at Southern Housing!
In this role, you will work as part of a team across multiple locations providing support services to vulnerable residents, promoting independence within their home and the wider community. You will provide support services promoting daily living and social skills, health and wellbeing to people who are young or have complex needs so they can develop independent living skills, remain independent and move on to living within the wider community and prevent future homelessness.
This is a part-time role working 21hours a week and is based outof our different schemes around the Island in Newport, Sandown, Shanklin and Ryde.
Please note, this is a 24/7 hours service and youwill be required to undertake sleep-in duties (if applicable) and may be required to be on the On-call rota.This role requires you hold a full UK drivers licence.
What you'll have:
A good level of written and verbal communication skills
You demonstrate empathy, compassion and patience
Able to adapt to working environments
You will need to be willing and able to train towards an NVQ 3, or equivalent relevant workbased qualification
You hold at least 5 GCSE passes at grade C or above (or equivalent, Grade 9-5) including Maths and English
