Full time hours of work are 9am to 6pm Monday to Thursday, 9am to 5.30pm Friday.
Flexible and hybrid working arrangements will be considered.
Appointment is subject to Chambers’ usual six-month probationary period.
Garden Court North Chambers invites applications for the role of Junior Fees Manager to work within our Fee Collection and Billing team to proactively and efficiently administer and process the fees of barristers.
Responsibilities
* The daily administration of the Legal Aid Agency’s Client and Cost Management System (CCMS) to include Legal Aid Payment on Account applications and Final Bill submissions
* Processing the payment of BACS payments to barrister members and dealing with issues arising
* Processing the weekly Legal Aid Remittance Statements
* The monthly reconciliation of Legal Aid Agency Provider Statements of Accounts
* In conjunction with other Fee Collection staff, conduct aged debt review work
* Daily liaison with barristers and professional clients as necessary
* Working with professional clients to develop mutually beneficial relationships and internal systems to ensure the correct and efficient administration of the CCMS system
* Undertake billing as required
Person specification
* Experience working within a barristers’ chambers or legal aid provider organisation
* Experience of using CCMS for processing legal aid online
* High level of numeracy and experience of interpreting numerical data
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* The ability to manage your own workload including prioritising tasks
* The ability to communicate effectively and confidently with colleagues and Chambers’ external professional contacts
* LEX case management system experience or similar
