Position: CAD/BIM Tech (BIM Modeler)
Position Description:
The position is for a CAD/BIM Tech (BIM Modeler) in a multi-discipline 50+ person AE firm that specializes in a wide variety of medium scale commercial building projects with an emphasis on projects on military bases. The role requires someone outgoing, personable, professional, ambitious, and eager to work in a multi-discipline AE environment. The candidate should be motivated to meet deadlines, produce quality work, grow their career, and take on additional responsibilities.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Support all discipline team members involved in document production using the latest releases of Revit.
2. Develop architectural Revit BIM models for working drawings.
3. Develop documents and information related to Revit and BIM, such as PXP, M3, COBie, CHX, Process Maps, etc.
4. Perform clash detection using ACC Model Coordination and Navisworks, coordinating with team members to resolve clashes.
5. Create rendered models in Revit for presentations.
6. Review working models and PDF outputs for quality control and standards compliance.
7. Assist in producing and compiling working drawings for deliverables.
8. Coordinate daily with various disciplines to resolve project issues.
9. Assist outside firms on multi-firm projects with setup, deliverables, and modeling compliance.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Five years’ experience developing architectural Revit BIM models for commercial projects, with a good understanding of multidisciplinary model integration.
2. Proficiency in the latest Revit releases and awareness of Autodesk BIM tools.
3. Ability to link multiple Revit models via Shared Coordinates, using survey data.
4. Experience with Bluebeam Revu for collaboration.
5. Ability to pass a background check for military base access.
6. Willingness to travel occasionally with overnight stays.
7. Exceptional interpersonal, communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
8. Ability to manage multiple projects independently and efficiently.
9. Desire to learn, accept guidance, and build professional relationships.
10. Strong work ethic with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
11. Ability to interpret and recreate architectural and engineering drawings in Revit with minimal errors.
Additional Desired Qualifications:
1. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Windows 10, SketchUp, 3D Studio Max, AutoCAD (beneficial).
2. Experience with U.S. Armed Services or military base projects.
3. Construction administration experience.
4. Knowledge of Dynamo scripting or willingness to learn.
5. Experience with Python and Revit API or willingness to learn.
6. Ability to understand and model disciplines outside of Architecture.
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will understand how Revit is used for documentation and information production in commercial design and construction, with basic knowledge of structural and mechanical modeling practices. They should be a self-starter, well-organized, and capable of handling routine and complex tasks, with excellent time management skills.
