Capital Works Project Manager, Healthcare
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of a major multifaceted capital works programme across several hospital sites in London.
This role will oversee over £9.5 million of essential infrastructure upgrades, including a significant £6 million LED and emergency lighting replacement scheme set to run over the next two years. Beyond this, a strong pipeline of infrastructure and lifecycle projects will provide continued opportunities for impactful work and professional development.
The successful candidate will be at the heart of project delivery - ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to hospital operations. Acting as a central point of communication, you'll liaise closely with clinical and operational staff, ward managers, and estates teams to ensure smooth delivery and clear communication throughout each phase.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage multiple capital projects from design through to completion.
Coordinate project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
Build strong relationships with hospital staff, ward managers, and estates representatives - serving as the key link between project delivery and daily hospital operations.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in full compliance with health, safety, and governance standards.
Manage budgets, reporting, risk registers, and programme timelines.
Champion sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives, particularly within lighting and infrastructure upgrades.
About You
Demonstrable experience in delivering capital works or infrastructure projects within a live, operational environment - ideally healthcare or complex public estates.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage confidently at all levels.
Strong technical and commercial understanding of project delivery, including M&E systems, construction processes, and CDM regulations.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams and drive collaborative delivery.
Relevant qualifications (e.g. Degree or equivalent in Project Management, Construction, or Engineering Prince2/APM beneficial).
What's on Offer
This is a rare opportunity to play a key role in the modernisation of critical hospital infrastructure - ensuring safe, efficient, and sustainable environments for patients and staff. You'll join a high-performing team delivering meaningful projects that make a genuine difference to the healthcare landscape in London.
If you're a confident communicator with a proven track record in complex project delivery, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today to learn more about this exciting opportunity.
