Llandrindod Wells Medical Practice is looking for a 6 to 8 session salaried GP to join a warm, supportive, and sociable practice in the heart of beautiful Mid Wales. We are a friendly, teaching focused, forward looking team where clinical excellence, teamwork, and wellbeing genuinely matter. This is an ideal role for a GP who values manageable workload, collegiality, and quality of life, alongside opportunities to teach, develop interests, and enjoy the outdoors.
Main duties of the job
You will be joining a supportive, well-resourced multidisciplinary team that includes five partners, a salaried GP, an ANP, a Paramedic and four experienced nurses. Our pharmacy technician plays a key role in managing hospital discharges and clinic correspondence, and we work closely with the District Nurse team. You will also benefit from cohesive administrative and management support that helps ensure smooth day to day operations. In addition, we run a 15 bed Community Hospital, offering unique opportunities for collaborative working and strong links with local teams and services.
You will enjoy 15‑minute appointments including a dedicated coffee break where the team comes together to catch up and sign prescriptions, and protected administration time. We offer a total triage model where the on‑call doctor reviews all clinical requests and directs patients to the most appropriate service. On‑call duties are shared fairly across the team and are arranged as either a morning or afternoon session, helping to maintain a balanced and supportive working day.
About us
We have roughly 10,900 patients. We are proud to be a training practice supporting the development of future clinicians at every stage. We regularly have GP registrars, nurse trainees and medical students, creating a dynamic learning environment. If you enjoy teaching or are keen to develop your skills in education this is an ideal place to get involved and make a meaningful contribution to the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Mid Wales offers an exceptional quality of life, and Llandrindod Wells is no exception known for its peaceful, welcoming, friendly community and stunning natural surroundings. Outside of work, you will have access to fantastic walking and cycling routes, water sports on the beautiful River Wye, and year‑round opportunities for outdoor adventure. The town is conveniently located just an hour from Hereford, Shrewsbury, Brecon and Aberystwyth.
We are seeking a kind, committed GP who values teamwork and genuinely patient centred care. If you enjoy working in a supportive, well‑run environment, you will be a great fit. We welcome applications from both newly qualified and experienced GPs.
