Overview
Process Engineer role at CUPONING PULICIDAD S.L. in West Yorkshire, England. Location: covering the Leeds and Harrogate areas. Work type: Permanent, 37 hours per week. Core working window from 07:00 to 20:00 with weekend work and a 24/7 standby rota once fully trained.
We have two exciting opportunities for Process Engineers to join the Water Production team and help Yorkshire Water deliver great service to customers while looking after the environment.
Responsibilities
* Based at a Water Treatment Works, manage operational and plant maintenance activities to provide wholesome water. Tasks include cleaning and calibrating instrumentation, performing Water Quality laboratory checks, fault finding and diagnosing treatment issues, trend data integration, cleaning process tanks, coordinating with electrical and mechanical colleagues to resolve faults, accepting chemical deliveries, and ensuring compliance with water quality standards, environmental regulations, health and safety, and process safety across all WTWs.
* Lead chemical and process optimisation of clean water treatment processes to achieve the production plan and manage costs. Lead optimisation activities, share best practice, and minimise service outages. Manage asset failure and provide operational recovery support and cost information monitoring.
* Review Risk Assessments and Methods Statements, issue control of work documentation, adhere to safe systems of work, identify hazards and implement mitigation. Update reporting systems to ensure HSE compliance and alignment with Water Quality Requirements (DWI) and Environment Agency statutory requirements.
* Provide operational support during incidents or events and ensure escalation and management as appropriate.
* Support Modernisation efforts and Dynamic Asset Maintenance while assisting with the new operational asset management system (ERP).
What Skills & Qualifications You Will Need
* Multiskilled with a hands-on practical approach. Water Treatment understanding is advantageous but not essential. Willingness to learn with awareness of regulatory Health, Safety and Environmental obligations. Analytical mindset with ability to fault find and review data for trends.
* Attention to detail and right-first-time performance. Proficiency with IT systems and familiarity with risk policies and procedures. Openness to new technologies, innovation, and working in a fast-paced operational environment.
* Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Desirable experience in a commercial-oriented and/or regulated environment, preferably within water, wastewater, or broader utilities/process/manufacturing sectors.
* Role requires work in confined spaces and passing medical criteria (BMI, vision, blood pressure, hearing, spirometry). If you have questions about these tests, contact us before applying.
* Full, valid UK driving licence required; no more than 6 points. Flexible to respond to out-of-hours incidents after training, on a rota basis.
