JOB DESCRIPTION
This is an opportunity to drive the effective implementation of student engagement across our campuses by supporting the Student Support Team. The Student Voice Officer plays a central role in amplifying the student voice across all campuses. This position supports the Students' Guild and academic departments in developing effective systems of student representation, ensuring that students are empowered to influence their educational experience and wider college life. Through collaboration, insight gathering, and support of democratic functions, the postholder will contribute to a strong culture of engagement, feedback, and improvement.
Working closely with students, staff, and external stakeholders, you will help deliver student-led initiatives, support student reps, and ensure that student concerns are heard and acted upon. The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide first-line support for student-related enquiries and concerns.
2. Support the recruitment, training, and ongoing development of Course Representatives and other student representatives.
3. Coordinate forums, committees, and feedback mechanisms that ensure the student voice is represented at all levels of decision-making.
4. Collaborate with academic departments to enhance student involvement in curriculum design and quality improvement initiatives.
5. Oversee the implementation and promotion of key feedback tools, such as the Student Experience Survey and the National Student Survey (NSS).
6. Increase awareness and engagement through targeted campaigns, events, and peer-led outreach activities.
7. Analyse survey results and contribute to the production of accessible summary reports and actionable recommendations.
8. Work in partnership with staff to close the feedback loop, promoting "You Said, We Did" outcomes and demonstrating impact.
9. Use qualitative and quantitative feedback to identify recurring themes and advocate for meaningful, student-led change.
10. Support the development and utilisation of feedback dashboards, insight packs, and briefing materials for students and staff.
11. Assist in the planning and delivery of representative elections and other democratic processes.
12. Collaborate with the wider Guild team to deliver campaigns, wellbeing initiatives, and student representation events.
13. Build and maintain effective working relationships with student leaders, academic departments, and external partners.
14. Ensure consistent and effective communication of student voice activity across digital, print, and in-person channels.
15. Gather and evaluate feedback from students and staff to inform service development and improvement.
16. Contribute to quality assurance processes and participate in regular evaluation and planning meetings.
17. Stay informed on policies, developments, and legislation relating to personal, pastoral, and academic matters.
18. Support the continuous quality improvement plan through the collection and analysis of student and staff feedback.
19. Develop and sustain close operational collaboration with other departments, actively contributing to key events such as orientations, social activities, and wellbeing programmes.
20. Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the line manager.
