Venatu Recruitment and proud to announce that a leading, new client of ours are now looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join them They specialise in passive fire protection solutions and fire door manufacturing, delivering high-quality services to protect lives and property across the UK.
Due to consistent growth and expansion, they're looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team and support cost management across our installation and manufacturing projects.
This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in both construction projects and product manufacturing, with full training and career development provided in which you will assist our Quantity Surveyors in cost control, procurement, and financial reporting across multiple projects
This is a full time position paying up to £40k per year
Job duties include:
* Support in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities for fire protection projects and fire door manufacturing contracts. Both on New Build and Remedial Projects
* Assist with formal tendering processes.
* Assist in the submission of monthly valuations, capture of progressed measured works and variations and receipt of payment notices.
* Maintain accurate records for project finances and assist in preparing monthly cost and value reports.
* Working closely with the Quantity Surveyor and working together with project managers, site teams, client quantity surveyor/site/technical teams and the manufacturing department to ensure cost efficiency.
* Support preparation of final accounts and contract documentation.
The type of candidate they're looking for:
* Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or related field (or working towards one).
* Up to 2 years' experience in construction, manufacturing, or related QS roles (graduates welcome).
* Knowledge of JCT/NEC4/Bespoke Contractor Terms and Conditions, Fire Stopping and Fire Door operation and commercial processes preferred but not essential.
* Strong numerical, analytical, and IT skills (Excel essential). Experience in evidencing/costing systems such as One Trace, Boris, Rapid Spec. Third Party Fire Remedial surveys/door schedules
* Good communication, teamwork and best practice record keeping skills with a proactive approach.
* Interest in developing within the fire protection and manufacturing sector.
