About the Role

The Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by developing new and existing business, managing the full sales cycle, and aligning customer needs with Trelleborg Marine Systems’ strategic objectives. This role ensures technical and commercial excellence in customer engagements and contributes to the company’s market leadership in engineered marine solutions.


Key responsibilities

Your key responsibility is focused on achieving Sales and Gross Profit targets for the PG TMI EMSA and the Sales Managers regional own targets. This includes:

Sales Strategy & Execution

• Develop and implement regional sales strategies aligned with PG TMI EMSA objectives

• Achieve sales and gross profit targets for the assigned region

• Manage and improve sales margins and profitability

• Lead the tender and sales process from lead generation to order closure

• Prepare and negotiate sales proposals and contracts

• Conduct sales forecasting and performance analysis

Customer Relationship Management

• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders

• Promote Trelleborg Marine Systems’ products and services to existing and prospective clients

• Provide sound technical advice to internal and external customers

• Ensure customer satisfaction through proactive engagement and support

Market & Business Development

• Conduct market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities

• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs

• Develop and grow the assigned sales area, including agent and distributor networks

• Contribute to marketing plans and initiatives to strengthen market position

Internal Collaboration & Project Support

• Liaise with design engineers, project management, and supplier factories to ensure customer requirements are met

• Support project database management and contribute to business process improvements

• Provide regular sales and market updates to the Regional Sales Manager

• Assist other Trelleborg business units by identifying cross-selling opportunities

Compliance & Continuous Improvement

• Ensure adherence to internal procedures, industry regulations, and ethical standards

• Contribute to the development of engineered solutions tailored to customer and industry needs

• Seek continual self-improvement and represent the company professionally

• Support the training and development of junior sales staff (where applicable)


What We’re Looking For

• A degree in engineering or a degree in business with proven experience in engineering. Ideally mechanical engineering or / and civil engineering.

• The position requires 5 years working experience as Sales Manager or Sales Engineer in an engineering environment of which 2 years in the marine business is a benefit.

• Experience to develop and retain internal and external networks.

• International experience and mindset

• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is required. German language skills will be considered a strong advantage.

• Experience with complex sales models
