Job summary

Clinical administration is a key function in the managementand day to day functionality of the countywide adult bladder and bowel team andthe patients they care for. The purposeof this role is to work with and support the adult bladder and bowel team withtheir clinical administration functions associated with the management of patients;accepting incoming tasks / emails and referrals to the team, setting up clinicledgers and making amendments as needed.

The combined population of the area in County Durham andDarlington covered is approximately 600,000 population.

Main duties of the job

To be responsible for the accepting and completing ofelectronic tasks with the help of the nursing staff as required.

Work with both SystmOne and an online ordering system tocontribute to patient care.

Carry out administrative and housekeeping tasks to supportthe service and patient care.

Support Lead nurses with Home Delivery Service receiptingand monitoring of invoices / budget.

Complete Cardea ordering and monitor budget accordingly.

Participate and provide training around the electronicpatient management system and functioning of the team in their area.

Provide and receive routine information requiring tact orpersuasive skills

Provide and receive complex or sensitive information,dealing with and understanding behaviours.

Provide advice, instruction ortraining to the team

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

Manages own workload with an understanding of what needs tobe done, when and why in order to assist the function of the team. Has the ability to flexible and prioritise ifrequired due to an unexpected or urgent need.

Provide staff with advice re administrative procedures andhelp with access as required. This includesgeneral admin duties and IAA functions.

Communicate with patients, relatives and health carepractitioners effectively

Demonstrating effective time management skills andparticipates in the monitoring and reviewing of team performance.

Gather key audit data from electronic systems and producereports to adult bladder and bowel lead nurses as requested and within timescales.

Promote an environment where health promotion and informedpatient choice is encouraged and developed to its maximum potential, within theavailable resources

To undertake relevant training to enable the provision of ahigh quality service.

To complete effective record keeping in accordance withTrust policy and legal requirements.

To commit to continuous personal development / lifelonglearning by attending mandatory training, relevant training courses, use ofeLearning and adhere to all trust policies and procedures.

To attend regular admin meetings / 1:1 sessions, toundertake appraisal preparation and contribute to objective setting andpersonal development planning.

To participate in and contribute to all activitiesassociated with the teams response to current trends and changes within the NHS
