We're looking for a Lead Structural Engineer to take the helm of structural design across our portfolio of advanced composite vessels. This is a unique opportunity to play a central role in developing lightweight, high performance platforms that push the boundaries of marine engineering.
As our Structural Design Lead, you'll be the go to expert for all things structural, guiding designs from concept through to production. You'll work closely with multi disciplinary teams to ensure our vessels are not only structurally sound, but also optimised for weight, manufacturability and cost-efficiency. Your insights will directly influence how we build, streamline, and deliver cutting-edge solutions.
This is a high impact role for someone who thrives on solving complex challenges, values precision and enjoys working in a fast paced, mission driven environment.
What you'll be doing:
* Taking full technical ownership of the structural design process across our Kraken composite vessel portfolio
* Acting as the primary technical contact for structural matters across all platforms
* Driving design optimisation for weight, manufacturability, and cost
* Championing design for manufacture principles to support efficient build processes
Essential skills and experience:
* Proven experience designing to regulatory standards and liaising with relevant bodies
* Strong background in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and composite optimisation to meet class rules
* Hands on collaboration with shipyard shop floor to manage design updates/as fits changes (in/out of house)
* Ability to predict weight in early stage concepts using hand calculations and class rules (US/UK)
* Experience in structural design of composite platforms up to 24m load line length
Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:
* 3D CAD modelling in Siemens NX and structural analysis in NX Simcenter
* Manufacture process, surface finish, resin system and reinforcement selection
* Project management
* Configuration control
* Mentoring of junior engineers
You'll be part of a team that's passionate about innovation and excellence. We offer a collaborative environment where your ideas and expertise will directly shape the future of our vessels. If you're looking for a role where engineering meets impact, this is it.
