Ossett Academy are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled and forward‑thinking Teacher of Computer Science & IT to join our successful BICTE department. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to teach KS3 Computer Science, KS4 Computer Science, and the Cambridge National in IT (CAMNAT IT). The successful candidate will inspire pupils, contribute to curriculum development, and help shape the digital futures of our learners.
KS3 Computer Science
* Deliver engaging and accessible lessons that build strong foundational knowledge in computational thinking, programming, digital literacy, and e‑safety.
* Introduce pupils to key concepts such as algorithms, data representation, hardware and software, and problem‑solving.
* Support pupils of all abilities, ensuring they are well prepared for the demands of KS4 Computer Science or IT pathways.
Cambridge National in IT (CAMNAT IT)
* Teach the Cambridge National IT course with confidence, ensuring pupils develop strong practical skills in data handling, project planning, digital tools, and creative media applications.
* Guide learners through coursework units, supporting them to produce high‑quality evidence that meets assessment criteria while maintaining academic integrity.
* Deliver clear, structured teaching on IT concepts such as user interfaces, data manipulation, and the role of IT in business and society.
KS4 Computer Science
* Teach the full GCSE Computer Science curriculum, ensuring pupils develop secure understanding of programming, computer systems, networks, cybersecurity, and data representation.
* Deliver high‑quality instruction in languages such as Python, guiding pupils through increasingly complex coding challenges.
* Prepare pupils thoroughly for both theoretical and practical assessment components, including exam technique and problem‑solving strategies.
