Overview
Exclusive Education is looking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate Level 3 Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with SEN in EYFS at a school in St. Helen’s. This Teaching Assistant role is part time 3 hours per day across 5 days a week, Monday to Friday. Start Date: ASAP. Contract: Part Time, 5 days per week (3 Hours per Day).
Responsibilities
* Support pupils with Autism and other Special Educational Needs to access the curriculum and engage in learning
* Assist in managing challenging behaviours using appropriate strategies and interventions
* Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to deliver personalised learning support as a proactive Teaching Assistant
* Implement behaviour management plans and support positive behaviour throughout the school day
* Assist pupils’ communication needs using tools such as PECs or other visual aids
* Support pupils’ social, emotional, and developmental needs in line with individual education plans (IEPs)
* Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and support ongoing assessment
* Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment in your role as a Teaching Assistant
Requirements
* Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 3 in EYFS)
* Eligibility to work in the UK
* Recent experience working with children within the last two years
* Experience supporting pupils with Autism and special educational needs
* Excellent understanding of the national curriculum and assessment frameworks
* Previous experience working with EYFS is essential
* Ability to provide two professional references from recent roles working with children
* Hold a current DBS registered with the update service or be willing to apply for a new one
* Training or experience in PECs, TEACCH, or Team Teach is desirable
* First Aid Certificate is desirable
