Spire South Bank Hospital have an exciting opportunity for a Bank Chemotherapy Nurse to join our Outpatient Chemotherapy Day Unit. Acting as a role model for Spire Healthcare, the successful candidate will be responsible to and supported by the senior nurses. The post holder will be a member of the team that assess and safely administer SACT treatments and provide information and support to patients undergoing anti-cancer treatment.

Duties and responsibilities:
Working within a highly supportive team you will provide care to patients with all types of conditions in Oncology. You will be provided with full mandatory training in this and will treat your own caseload of patients and make your own decisions as part of a wider team. You will also work alongside the consultants at the hospital providing exemplary care.
1. To provide exemplary planned care for patients and assist in the management and organisation of care provision in Oncology Day Chemotherapy Centre. Care of cancer patients receiving Systemic Anti- Cancer Therapy(SACT).
2. Assess patients’ health and wellbeing across a complex and changing caseload of cancer patients.
3. Assist in the delivery of care to meet individuals’ health and wellbeing needs throughout the cancer treatment pathway.
4. Provide and receive complex, sensitive or contentious information related to cancer patient care.
Who we're looking for:
5. NMC registered - your pin should not have any restrictions or conditions
6. Have a minimum of 1-2 years’ experience working in an Oncology/Haematology setting.
7. Competent in venepuncture, phlebotomy and cannulation and the use of CVADs.
8. Evidence of SACT competency.
9. UK Oncology Nurse Society (UKONS) SACT passport (preferred but not essential).
10. Post registration study in cancer care or equivalent (desirable but not essential).
11. Compassionate and patient advocate.
12. Excellent communication skills, organised and can showcase excellent patient care.
