We’re looking for a Category Buyer who will work closely with our Head of Procurement and the wider Category Buying team to ensure that materials and services are procured to meet the agreed quality, service and investment levels to fulfil operational requirements. As a Category Buyer, you will help to shape and execute the procurement strategy for your areas of responsibility working closely with key stakeholders within the UK and across the wider global procurement community. What You’ll be Doing at Kerakoll Defining the strategic & operational plans for negotiations and purchases for the categories assigned, guaranteeing the supply of materials and services at the best economic conditions, respecting the timescale, quantities and quality specifications defined Managing category procurement plans, data, activities & SLAs - acting as first point of contact internally & externally Entering direct negotiation activities relating to purchases of products and services allocated, in line with the defined autonomy levels, consistently seeking to provide quality alongside cost reduction initiatives. Analysing category buying activity using business intelligence software and tools provided to: identify actions to reduce costs and/or improve the quality of processes, materials and services manage non-compliance (classification, determination of values, etc.) ensuring standards relating to congruity, classification, determination of values, and SLAs are met Analysing supply market to: Research and qualify opportunity for new supplier relationships which would enhance quality, service or cost Understand market pricing fluctuations to inform supplier forecasting & procurement decisions Working closely with key departments to ensure availability of materials and services & accuracy of forecasts Preparing procurement documentations and managing administration to ensure effective and auditable processes are followed and maintained Leading supplier visits and/or audits at supplier plants, to verify compliance and reliability of supply conditions Ensuring compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and quality standards. What you’ll Bring to Kerakoll Knowledge & experience: Category Management – Proven ability to manage and optimise category performance, drive profitability, and identify opportunities for growth. Data Analysis – Proficient in Excel and Power BI, with the ability to analyse supplier performance and market data to inform decisions. Negotiation – Strong negotiating skills to secure favourable pricing, payment terms, and commercial conditions. Supplier Relationship & Contract Management – Skilled in building and sustaining trading partnerships, with the ability to draft, review, and manage contracts while ensuring compliance. Cross-Functional Communication – Able to collaborate effectively with various departments to ensure procurement aligns with broader business objectives. Skills & Behaviour: High attention to detail, organised, and excellent at managing time and priorities. Decisive and calm under pressure, capable of handling disruptions and urgent issues effectively. Takes ownership and responsibility with confidence.
