About the Role
An exciting opportunity for a newly qualified or band 6 pharmacist to join our expanding pharmacy team, which includes Independent Prescribers and Consultant Pharmacists, to provide comprehensive clinical pharmacy services across community health and mental health specialities. The role is largely patient‑facing and focused on developing robust clinical skills through a rotational programme at Goodmayes Hospital, with periodic travel to other NELFT sites.
Responsibilities
* Attend ward rounds, provide patient counselling and respond to clinical queries.
* Deliver a clinical pharmacy service across the following areas:
o Community Health Services – inpatient frailty wards, hospital discharge services and specialist community services such as stroke rehabilitation, diabetes, respiratory and palliative care.
o Adult and Older Adult Mental Health Services – inpatient wards, Psychiatric Liaison Services, Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit, Forensic Services, Learning Disabilities, Perinatal Mental Health, Home Treatment Teams and Community Mental Health Teams.
o Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) – inpatient and community settings.
* Proactively develop and use clinical skills to improve patient care through efficient medicines optimisation.
* Participate in teaching, quality improvement and postgraduate study opportunities.
Qualifications
Applicants must be newly qualified or hold band 6 status (or equivalent pharmacist). Hospital and/or mental health experience is desirable but not essential; in‑house training will be provided to support development. Direct employment at a band 7 level may be considered for candidates demonstrating the required skills and experience.

Probationary period applies; internal candidates are exempt. The post is subject to national trust guidelines and pays a high‑cost area supplement. Sponsorship is not available for all roles.
