Opportunity:
Ashurst has recently announced its intention to merge with US firm Perkins Coie. The merger will lead to a significant increase in the combined firm's international tax compliance obligations, so the Partnership Tax team is restructuring to create this new role.
We are seeking an experienced Senior International Tax Manager to join our partnership. This is a pivotal role within our tax function, responsible for managing and advising on complex cross-border tax matters affecting the partnership and its members. The successful candidate will play a central role in shaping and implementing the partnership's international tax strategy, ensuring compliance with UK and overseas tax obligations, and providing technical guidance to partners and colleagues across the business.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
* Lead tax compliance in the EMEA region covering income and corporation tax filings.
* Work closely with local Finance Managers to ensure timely and accurate submission of all EMEA tax returns and computations.
* Leading discussions with overseas tax advisers for these locations to coordinate tax filings and manage tax audits or disputes.
* Support local partners with personal tax affairs, information requests and tax compliance by liaising with overseas tax advisers and internal Partner Finance team
* Manage the preparation and submission of Country-by-Country Reports and lead the implementation of Pillar II compliance processes across the group
* Take the lead on managing deadlines, tax risk, compliance and internal workflows.
This is a full-time, permanent role based in our Glasgow office with hybrid working.

About you:
The successful candidate will have:
* Tax or accounting professional qualification eg CTA/ACCA
* Strong experience in International Tax Compliance (preferably EMEA) and understanding of tax reporting and forecasting processes.
* Proven track record working with cross-border data.
* Demonstrated leadership and change management capabilities.
* Self-motivated personality with high standards for quality of work, controls and accuracy
* Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) with advance excel skills.
* The role requires a minimum of seven to ten years of experience in international tax, gained either in a professional services firm, an in-house tax function, or a combination of both
