We are seeking a compassionate, patient and motivated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated support team. This role involves working closely with pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, communication difficulties and learning needs, supporting them to access learning and develop their independence and confidence.
You may be working on a one‑to‑one basis, in small groups, or supporting the wider class, depending on pupil needs.

Contract: Temporary MAT cover
Start Date: 1st June 2026 or ASAP
Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored support to pupils with SEN, ensuring individual needs are met
* Support pupils academically, socially and emotionally within the classroom and intervention settings
* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement EHCP and IEP targets
* Promote positive behaviour using consistent, nurturing strategies
* Support sensory, emotional regulation and wellbeing activities where required
* Assist with the preparation of resources and adaptations to support inclusion
* Monitor pupil progress and report observations to teaching and SEN staff
* Maintain a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment at all times
The Ideal Candidate Will
* Have experience working with children with SEN (school, care or support setting)
* Demonstrate a calm, patient and nurturing approach
* Have a good understanding of inclusive practice and behaviour support
* Be proactive, flexible and able to use initiative
* Communicate effectively with teachers, SEN staff and parents
* Be committed to safeguarding and promoting children’s wellbeing
* Hold a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 TA, Childcare, SEN, or Health & Social Care) – desirable but not essential
