Join to apply for the SEN / SEND Tutor, Gloucestershire role at Targeted Provision.

Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN / SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs required in Gloucestershire.

Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support.

We are on a mission to transform the quality of education provided to young people with SEN (Special Education Needs) / SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities). We support children with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties) and SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties) and are looking for SEN / SEND tutors with a genuine passion for transforming the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners in Gloucestershire.

At Targeted Provision our mission is to raise the standard of educational support offered to vulnerable young people in the UK. We keep the team around the child, and you will be supported throughout every placement by our team of SEN / SEND Support Specialists. This role is ideal for qualified SEN / SEND teachers who enjoy 1:1 tutoring with children and young people with diverse learning needs in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed approach.

The SEN / SEND Tutor role

* Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs
* Young people are referred by local authorities and schools and require support in educational and social-emotional journeys
* Deliver flexible, holistic, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring


Tutor tasks and responsibilities

* Plan each tutoring/mentoring session
* Deliver holistic and engaging sessions meeting individual needs and progress goals
* Complete lesson reports and provide feedback on progress


Tutor requirements

* Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience
* Experience working with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
* Experience and understanding of safeguarding processes
* Enhanced DBS (we can help obtain at cost if needed)
* Two professional references
* UK-based with the right to work in the UK, including remote/online assignments

It is a strict requirement that you promote the health, safety and wellbeing of children and young people and follow safeguarding policies at all times.


Employment Status

* This position involves engaging with us as a Worker to provide short-term engagements as they arise
* Contract for service with PAYE payment
* No fixed amount of work or expenses coverage
* Our insurance covers the work you do for us
* This is not a self-employed tutoring/teaching position
