Southwark are seeking a passionate and experienced Social Worker to join our Safeguarding and Family Support team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional social work practice, managing complex cases, and promoting positive outcomes for vulnerable children and families.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provide a comprehensive, integrated social work service within Southwark's practice framework, managing complex cases with a systemic approach
2. Assess complex needs, develop tailored plans, and work collaboratively with families, support networks, and professionals to manage risk and safeguard children.
3. Respond to cases in a timely manner within statutory guidelines, ensuring that interventions are appropriate and effective.
4. Build and maintain strong relationships with families and support networks, employing a relationship-based approach to social work practice.
5. Work collaboratively with the team to support the development of best practice, providing coaching and mentoring to students, newly qualified social workers, and less experienced practitioners.
6. Stay informed about current research, legislation, and best practices in safeguarding and family support, continuously improving your own professional knowledge and skills.
Requirements:
7. Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
8. Registration with Social Work England.
9. Proven experience in safeguarding and family support, managing complex cases.
10. Strong assessment and planning skills, with the ability to work systemically.
11. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with families and professionals.
12. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and support the development of less experienced practitioners.
13. Commitment to continuous professional development and upholding ethical standards in social work practice.
