The Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial management of our Capital Projects Department. The postholder will support provision of quantity surveying and cost management services across the Council’s capital programme, assist in cost planning, financial monitoring, contract administration and reporting under the supervision of the Quantity Surveyors & Cost Controls Manager, while developing skills towards a professional qualification.
Key responsibilities include:
* Assist the Quantity Surveyor on numerous projects.
* Work closely with design and project teams and internal stakeholders to keep projects on commercial track.
* Attend regular site visits and meetings to review progress.
* Value interim payments, variations, and re‑measure for final accounts settlement.
* Support the supervision and monitoring of project costs.
The role suits an Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to advance their career and achieve chartered status through RICS, CIOB or another professional institution.
