About the Role
We're entering an exciting phase of transformation at HL, and we're looking for a proactive and people-focused HR Advisor to join our dynamic and collaborative team.
As part of a supportive group of HR professionals, you'll have the opportunity to grow your skills and make a real impact across the business. This is a fantastic opportunity for a true HR Generalist who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working across a broad range of people-related matters.
In this role, you'll provide expert coaching and guidance to line managers, supporting them in areas such as employee relations, talent development, engagement, and change management. You'll play a key role in promoting best practice, resolving complex issues, and ensuring compliance with employment law and internal policies.
We're looking for someone who is confident, solutions-focused, and passionate about delivering high-quality HR support that drives positive outcomes for both people and the organisation.
Salary
£36,000-£42,000 depending on experience plus additional benefits below
What you'll be doing
Empower managers to apply HR policies and procedures effectively, promoting a fair and consistent approach across the organisation
Provide expert advice on complex employee relations and employment law matters to managers at all levels
Support managers through formal processes, ensuring legal compliance and minimising risk
Build capability in our management population to lead confidently in both remote and hybrid environments
Lead the employee relations workstream for organisational change initiatives, ensuring alignment with design and workforce strategy
Develop and maintain HR policies and management guidance in line with best practice and legislative requirements
Drive performance management processes, including the annual appraisal cycle, and identifying opportunities for career progression and capability building across the organisation
Deliver colleague engagement initiatives, using survey insights to inform action planning and drive continuous improvement
Provide flexible and responsive support to recruitment activities as needed, including advising on selection processes and ensuring recruitment aligns with workforce planning
Provide guidance on role design and job evaluation, ensuring roles are appropriately sized and structured to support business objectives and internal equity
Analyse people data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and work collaboratively to implement data-driven solutions
About you
Proven experience in a generalist HR role, with a strong focus on employee relations and change
Solid understanding of UK employment law and HR best practices
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility across all levels
Analytical mindset with experience using HR data to inform decisions
Knowledge of Data Protection and GDPR
CIPD Level 7 qualified, or working towards
Ability to work in a demanding, fast paced and pressurised environment.

Working Schedule
This role is based in Bristol head office, BS1 5HL. This role is permanent, full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. For this role we offer a hybrid flexible working pattern to enable you the option of working from home and coming into the office.
