Randstad is looking for a committed and experienced Nursery Manager to lead a team and provide the best quality of care and education for this Nursery's children. The ideal applicant will be enthusiastic about early childhood education, have excellent leadership abilities, and have a track record in nursery management.
This Nursery received an "Outstanding" rating from Ofsted. The Nursery's purpose is to build mutual trust and understanding between school and home. They understand the diverse needs of family life and to support this, they offer a range of extra-curricular activities throughout the academic year. This Nursery offers excellent childcare in a creative learning atmosphere and with the help of fostering self-assurance, independence, and a lifelong love of learning. They have qualified and enthusiastic nursery staff who help each child to lay a strong foundation for life in each of their classrooms. Your responsibilities as Nursery Manager will include:

1. An office-based role-managing own administrative responsibilities, answering phone calls, emails and organising personnel and children's files.
2. Day to day operations of the nursery which caters for children 3 months to 24 months.
3. Managing a team of staff, including delivering their inductions, performance reviews and CPD training.
4. Marketing and promoting the setting through various events such as parent's evenings, open mornings and social events for parents.
5. Ensuring the developmental and educational needs of all the children in your care are met and that they have opportunities to thrive.
6. Ensuring that all aspects of safeguarding are met, that the children are safe, whether that be through safe recruitment, ensuring the premises are safe or reporting and recording and safeguarding concerns within the DSL.
7. Ensuring your own knowledge and understanding of the current early years legislation and requirements remains up to date and that any necessary training is attended to ensure you are an inspiring leader for your team.
8. Communicating with the team and parents face to face, via emails, through workshops and newsletters.
9. Managing and dealing with parent's complaints, in a calm, professional and timely manner.
10. Managing the staff to child ratio and booking any extra sessions for parents and managing staff sickness and absences.
11. Attending management meetings proposing ideas and developing good practice to maintain and deliver outstanding care.

12. Enhanced child DBS on the update service or willingness to get one
13. Experience working with children or young people with additional care needs
14. Level 3 qualification
15. 2 recent professional references
16. Experience with behaviours that are challenging
17. A calm & caring personality
18. A strong and resilient personality and be committed to pupils' development
19. Reading, writing, numeracy and communication skills
20. Team Teach trained - or willing to attend training
