About the role
We’re seeking an experienced Chief Moderator to oversee the moderation of the following qualification on a flexible worker contract.
NCFE Level 1/2 Technical Award in Graphic Design (603/7011/7)
The purpose of moderation is to check that centres are correctly and consistently assessing student work and that the materials submitted for moderation meet the required standard.
As Chief Moderator you'll be expected to make a judgement on the accuracy and validity of the provider and moderators assessment decisions by continuously analysing data and evidence which forms part of the quality process in order to ensure qualification and regulatory compliance. Our moderation will begin in March 2026 and end in August 2026.
How you'll make an impact:
1. Recruiting, training and performance managing a team of Moderators across the relevant sector area
2. Ensuring that quality assurance and moderation is delivered in line with qualification and customer requirements
3. Ensuring the moderation team maintain compliant with all regulatory conditions relating to moderation of centre assessments
4. Coordinating the day to day activities of the moderation team throughout the moderation window
We'd love to hear from you if you offer the following:
5. A minimum of a level 3 qualification in the graphic design subject area
6. Evidence of at least 3 years working within the graphic design sector
7. Qualifications in assessment and internal quality assurance
8. Knowledge and management of moderation processes
9. Experience managing a team of moderators
10. Excellent report writing skills
