The service is based in Kingswood, South Gloucestershire and currently provides a service across four Integrated care board (ICB) areas, supporting children aged 0-19 and their families in Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset, B&NES.
This role is for a bank position, enabling new care packages to commence. Bank 6 rates will be considered depending on experience.
Main duties of the job
The purpose of this role is to undertake clinical shifts working alongside the Lifetime support workers in the child's home observing their clinical competencies and undertaking annual clinical assessments to provide outstanding care and support to the children and their families who meet Continuing Care Criteria (Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset and B&NES). This role includes clinical support to the rota co-ordination team. The role will require travel across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire, visiting service users within their own homes.
Please be aware: you will need to undertake at least one shift within a three-month rolling period to remain on the bank.

How Does it Work?

* If offered the role, attend a face-to-face Sirona induction
* During your first two weeks, you will complete an extended clinical induction to ensure you are equipped with the tools and knowledge needed before picking up shifts
* You will then complete orientation shifts to meet the team and undertake clinical skills sign-off
* Once orientation is completed, you will have access to an app where you can view upcoming shifts and book direct

Person Specification
Qualification and Training
* RSCN/RN Child registered on part 8 or 15 NMC register
* BSc (Hons) Community Children's Nurse/relevant community experience i.e. Specialist Practitioner CCN or SCPHN
Skills, Experience & Knowledge
* Knowledge of professional agenda and NMC standards
* Understanding of systems and processes in relation to safe service delivery
* Able to communicate clearly and effectively with a variety of service users with a range of communication needs and/or cultural backgrounds
* Knowledge of clinical governance and its applications
* Experience working as a Childrens Nurse
* Ability to work autonomously using clinical expertise for decision making
* Paediatric intensive care/paediatric high dependency care experience
* Experience in paediatric palliative care and complex health care
* Use of electronic patient record systems
* Up to date knowledge of evidence-based practice, local and national standards
