Azure Cloud Ops Engineer – Cloud Automation, Security & Migration – Remote

My new client is looking for a highly skilled Azure Cloud Operations Engineer with a strong background in infrastructure automation, cloud migration, and security enforcement. This role focuses on building and maintaining secure, automated, and scalable Azure environments while enabling enterprise-level cloud adoption.
Responsibilities
1. Design, build, and manage Azure cloud infrastructure using Terraform (IaC) and automation scripting (Python, PowerShell).
2. Lead and support cloud migration projects, ensuring scalability, performance, and compliance.
3. Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for automated deployments.
4. Enforce cloud security policies including RBAC, policy-as-code, and Zero Trust architecture.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions in an agile environment, writing user stories, tasks, and acceptance criteria.
6. Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot Azure environments to ensure reliability, cost efficiency, and security.
7. Partner with security teams to drive cloud security automation and compliance enforcement.
Required Skills
8. Proven expertise with Azure services (compute, networking, storage, identity, monitoring).
9. Strong proficiency in Terraform (Infrastructure as Code).
10. Hands-on experience with Python and PowerShell scripting.
11. Solid understanding of Zero Trust principles and cloud security best practices.
12. Experience building CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions or similar tools.
13. Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
14. Agile delivery mindset, including the ability to define user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical tasks.

15. Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate
16. Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate
17. HashiCorp Terraform Associate
18. DevOps and/or Kubernetes certifications
