99p Films is expanding Building on our impactful work in Falmouth and surrounding areas, we're now scaling our Social Cinema Model across the rest of Cornwall
We're a values-driven, creative social enterprise dedicated to combining storytelling, community engagement, and sustainability. As we grow, we're looking for a committed and passionate all rounder to join our team and help us reach more communities across Cornwall.
You'll work closely with our founder Alex Fish, alongside our Creative Director Jack Cowley and Head of Finance Zoe Hardacre
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who's passionate about using their skills to drive social and environmental impact.
Key Responsibilities
● General Logistics around upcoming events, including planning and liaison with venue staff, film makers, creatives, farmers and other partners
● Experimentation and exploration in alternative marketing approaches with a strong focus on in person marketing and community events
● Promotion of stakeholders, partners and collaborators with each social cinema event
● Managing our Social Channels with purely organic marketing including Instagram, Facebook and potentially other platforms
● Writing our weekly newsletters and expanding our subscriber numbers
● Writing Press Release articles
● Reaching out to new venues and fostering relationships with community spaces to implement the franchising of our social cinema model
● Connect and collaborate with local creatives and artists to turn ideas into practical marketing material, e.g. posters, banners, decorative tandem bikes, food trucks…
● Conduct market research and R&D into unique and sustainable marketing practices
● Community outreach and engagement, exploring ways in which we can increase the audience demographic and reach more deprived and marginalized areas whilst continuing to deliver and maintain our offer and experience to our existing community
● Conduct community feedback, inviting audience ideas and suggestions for how we continue to grow and develop our Social Cinema Nights
● Implement physical surveys at our 99p Social Cinema events, using this information to feed into event legacy and to build a continual and collective action approach.
● Work with the team on company policies and practices and then use a variety of methods to communicate and engage with our growing community and stakeholders.
● You will help increase engagement and audience numbers along with supporting recruitment and management of new volunteers
● Marketing and development of new events in multiple locations across Cornwall
Who we're looking for
While experience is valuable, we're prioritising work ethic, adaptability, and genuine alignment with our mission. Ideal candidates will demonstrate:
● High integrity and accountability—essential in our work as a CIC (Community Interest Company).
● Creative and not afraid to take risks
● An understanding of artistic practices and workflows as you will be working with several creatives from various disciplines
● Confidence in building partnerships and securing collaborative agreements.
● Strong writing skills for newsletters, press releases and general social media tone and language
● A social and outgoing personality, comfortable in networking environments
● Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
● Full UK driving license
● A collaborative mindset, able to thrive in a small, dynamic, and diverse team.
Contract & Benefits
● Part-time: 26 hours per week (flexible schedule).
● Duration: 3-month contract with potential extension, dependent on performance and financial situation
● Location: Primarily based at Launchpad, Penryn Campus. Remote/hybrid work is negotiable depending on location and role requirements.
