Food Technician – Secondary School, Salford
Contract: Full-time, long-term; Location: Salford
A secondary school in Salford is seeking to appoint a committed and well-organised Food Technician to join its Food Technology department on a full-time, long-term basis. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the effective delivery of practical food lessons and to support the learning and progress of students.
Responsibilities
* Prepare ingredients, equipment, and resources required for practical Food Technology lessons
* Provide in-class support to teaching staff and students during lessons, ensuring health and safety requirements are maintained at all times
* Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation within food preparation and storage areas
* Monitor stock levels and assist with the ordering and management of supplies
* Contribute to the efficient running of the department by supporting teaching and learning activities as directed
Person specification
* Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
* Reliability, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to supporting teaching staff and students
* Previous experience in a similar technician role, catering environment, or food preparation setting is desirable, though not essential as training can be provided
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
