A secondary school in Newham is seeking to appoint a creative and dedicated Photography Teacher to join their team on a permanent basis from September 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to join a supportive Art and Design department within a diverse and forward-thinking school community. The successful candidate will deliver engaging Photography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, inspiring students to develop their creativity, technical skills, and confidence through visual arts.
Applications are welcomed from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers with a strong subject knowledge and passion for creative education.
Key responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver high-quality Photography lessons across KS3 and KS4
* Support students in developing both practical and digital photography skills
* Prepare students for coursework and practical assessments
* Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
* Monitor and assess student progress effectively
* Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives
The successful candidate will:
* Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Have strong subject knowledge within Photography or Art and Design
* Demonstrate excellent classroom management and communication skills
* Be passionate about creative education and student achievement
* Have the ability to inspire and engage students of all abilities
* Be committed to maintaining high standards of teaching and learning
