Overview
Senior Workforce Business Partner role to join on a permanent basis. You will work strategically with designated divisions to understand service strategies and business objectives and develop business-focused solutions. You will lead divisional workforce and organisational development strategies, provide regular reports, analysis and recommendations against key performance indicators and transformational change objectives. You will manage your business unit team and support hearings, appeal panels and complex investigations as needed, plus policy development. With the new hospital development, you will lead workforce planning to ensure services, teams and roles are in place for a successful opening and beyond.

Responsibilities
* Strategic Business Partnering
* Lead delivery of the Trust’s Workforce Strategic Plan at a divisional level
* Provide proactive, professional, expert advice to senior managers on workforce and organisational development issues
* Represent the People Directorate at Divisional Boards and other corporate meetings; lead Trust-wide projects as appropriate
* Develop and support divisional workforce and organisational development strategies
* Lead workforce planning and talent & succession planning at a divisional level
* Advise on complex change management processes
* Directly manage the ‘business unit’ team and ensure work aligns with divisional and people directorate objectives
* Provide assurance to the Associate Director of People on employee relations case work, highlighting risk and actions to address
* Support hearings, appeal panels and complex investigations; undertake policy development
* Foster strong partnerships with divisional teams, HR/Workforce Team, other Trust teams and Trade Union representatives
* Lead workforce planning for the new hospital opening and ongoing operations
Person Specification
Knowledge
* Essential: Experience (to masters level) as a senior HR/OD professional with demonstrated skills, knowledge and competencies; NHS experience; CIPD qualification or equivalent; evidence of CPD; degree level education or equivalent; Postgraduate Diploma in HR Management
* Desirable: Chartered Member of CIPD; Quality Improvement Training; Coaching experience
Experience
* Essential: Understanding of business partnering with a track record of impacting workforce KPIs; senior HR generalist experience in a complex, multi-professional organisation; experience at operational and strategic levels; knowledge of NHS workforce priorities; experience in major organisational change, partnership working, workforce planning, workforce development, staff involvement/engagement, complex employee relations issues, change management, service transformation and complex employment casework
* Desirable: Use of OD interventions/models, succession planning, stakeholder network development, project management, process mapping, developing competency frameworks
Skills
* Essential: Basic keyboard skills (word, email)
* Desirable: Basic skills in Excel, PowerPoint and databases
