We’re modernising our data landscape — and we’re looking for a Lead Business Intelligence Developer who wants to shape the future of reporting, modelling, and data governance in a growing fintech environment. What you’ll lead and deliver: In this role, you will own the data model design and delivery of high-quality reporting solutions, shaping the strategic direction of business intelligence across the Bank. You'll take pride in delivering high-quality reporting solutions using your core toolkits: Power BI, DAX for models and visualisation and SQL for data extracts. Experience with Microsoft Fabric is desirable as this is on our short-term roadmap. Improving data governance and reporting standards will be central to your impact. Data model design will be one of your core competencies, and you’ll enjoy working with business analysts and stakeholders to translate source data and reporting needs into elegant models and insights. You’ll be skilled at stakeholder management and prioritisation, ensuring clear plans and timely delivery. You'll lead a team of two Business Intelligence Analysts, driving a culture of technical excellence and personal development within the team. You will have a passion for innovation, fascination with new technologies, and you'll be excited to champion them to generate business benefits. You will play a pivotal role in helping Castle Trust become a more data‑empowered organisation — and you’ll shape the tools, processes, and habits that get us there. This is a hybrid role based in Basingstoke, with flexibility to work 2 days from home per week. What you’ll bring: We are looking for a strong analytical and business-focused individual, with a commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable insight. A product-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering reusable, governed data assets that support self-service analytics. In addition, we would like you to have the following: Essential Experience delivering BI solutions using Power BI, with strong DAX and SQL skills. Expertise in data modelling and design (e.g., Kimball). Strong understanding of quality assurance practices. Familiarity with CI/CD practices for data pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps) Experience producing clear documentation and specifications. Confident delivering training and enabling users to adopt analytics tools effectively. Experience collaborating with technology, and business teams to deliver solutions. Awareness of modern data technologies and trends in the BI and analytics space. Desirable Relevant industry certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate. Degree or equivalent experience in computer science or data analytics. Experience with implementing Microsoft Fabric to support Power BI. Exposure to Azure Databricks (transformation) and Azure Synapse (SQL pool) Understanding of financial products and platforms (e.g., savings, lending, or credit). Interest in machine learning or generative AI tools and techniques. Experience with financial modelling or performance analytics. A background in regulated or financial services environments.
