Job Purpose / Overview:
This role offers the chance to contribute to the next generation of UK Nuclear Power Stations, developing skills and experience to prepare Hinkley Point C (HPC) for operation and to be part of the future HPC operating organization.
The primary focus is leading a team, ensuring timely procurement and delivery of plant spares to support HPC’s commissioning and operational maintenance schedules.
You will collaborate with various departments across the HPC project, including Pre-Operations, Commissioning, Commercial, and Finance, building strong relationships.
You will receive training and access to technical documentation necessary for your role.
This position is within the CommOps Supply Chain Team, part of the HPB CommOps Department Maintenance Programme, managing maintenance strategies for HPC now and in the future.
CommOps oversees all commissioning and operational activities for HPC.
Principal Accountabilities
1. Implement and own purchasing strategies.
2. Contribute to budget planning and procurement cost savings initiatives using SAP.
3. Maintain communication with suppliers and the commercial team to ensure timely delivery and compliance.
4. Manage the procurement process from order to payment.
5. Maintain vendor relationships within the supported category.
6. Negotiate and place orders, ensuring timely delivery for station needs.
7. Coordinate with teams to ensure supply quality.
8. Monitor purchase orders and ensure compliance.
9. Drive on-time delivery of external purchases.
10. Handle purchase requests, develop specifications, identify suppliers, and obtain quotes.
11. Prepare purchase requisitions and orders in the purchasing system (AS9).
12. Keep organized purchasing documentation for audits.
13. Assist with follow-ups and provide ordering information to requesters.
