Our client, a well-established distribution centre of building & plumbing supplies are looking to recruit an experienced Transport Planner.
The duties will include:
* Plan and coordinate daily transport schedules and delivery routes
* Organise vehicle runs, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods
* Improve routes to maximise efficiency, reduce costs, and minimise environmental impact
* Liaise with warehouse, customer service, and sales teams to maintain smooth operations
* Monitor performance and identify improvements using tracking systems
* Allocate workloads to warehouse staff based on daily operational needs
* Ensure compliance with transport legislation, safety standards, and internal policies
* Investigate and resolve transport issues, discrepancies, and claims
* Maintain and exceed agreed KPIs
* Support delivery of a reliable next-day service nationwide
Essential criteria:
* Minimum 5 years' experience in Transport Planning
* Strong IT skills and data analysis capability
* Good geographic knowledge
Working 10 hour shifts between 05:30 - 18:00, Monday to Friday.
