At POhWER, we are committed to making a difference in people’s lives. This is a permanent Independent Advocate role based in the East Midlands, with home-based work and travel as required.
Hours of Work: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm.
Location: Home based with travel around the East Midlands area. Applicants should live in the East Midlands area, have a full driving licence and access to their own transport. A flexible approach to commuting outside of your borough may be required; mileage is covered within our policy.
Salary: Starting salary £24,242.40 per annum.

What You’ll Do
* Provide high-quality instructed and non-instructed advocacy according to the needs of the client and the service being provided
* Act on behalf of clients at all times, including following their instructions and representing their wishes, feelings, beliefs and values in line with the law, guidance and best practice
* Evidence effective, outcome-focused case management, with planning, action and review and relevant recording
* Provide high-quality written reports as part of statutory advocacy roles
* Escalate concerns or complaints professionally to relevant public bodies as instructed by clients or as appropriate
Independent Advocate Requirements
* Strong communication and time-management skills to work remotely
* Excellent IT skills (Outlook, Word, Excel) and ability to learn client management databases
* Attention to detail to ensure accurate recording of records and reporting to meet tight deadlines
Desirable
* Previous experience in advocacy, information and advice, or a similar role within health, social care, or the voluntary sector
* Experience working with vulnerable adults
* Working knowledge of public and voluntary organisations
