Job Title: Cleaning Operative

We are offering a Cleaning Operative position at Holcim Aggregates in Glensanda. This role is suitable for individuals experienced in laboring and housekeeping, especially those comfortable working with hand shovels and fire.
Details:
* Location: Holcim Aggregates, Glensanda, Glensanda Quarry, Morvern, Oban PA34 5QB
* Pay Rate: £13.74 per hour
* Contract Length: 6 months initially, with potential extension
* Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (includes 1-hour paid break)
* Start Date: ASAP
Responsibilities:
1. Using shovels to remove debris, dust, and dirt from work areas, walkways, and equipment.
2. Operating hoses for washing down quarry machinery, vehicles, and equipment.
3. Maintaining a tidy and safe quarry site by regularly clearing waste or materials.
4. Following safety procedures, including wearing PPE and reporting hazards.
5. Supporting efficient quarry operations by keeping work areas clean and organized.
Essential Skills:
* Previous experience in housekeeping or laborer roles.
* Experience using hand shovels and fire.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
* Preference for local candidates.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
* Experience in quarry or construction sites.
* Experience operating small mobile plant equipment (e.g., mini excavators, loaders).
* Good physical fitness for manual tasks.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a quarry environment.
* Ability to adapt between cleaning and equipment operation tasks.
